Today, U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich (NM-1) launched an online H1N1 flu resource center on his Web site. The Web site is a one-stop-shop for reliable information to help keep constituents healthy and keep flu from spreading in New Mexico. It includes the most up-to-date information from sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
Featured on the site is a public service announcement, in which Representative Heinrich reminds constituents to take simple steps to protect themselves from the flu and how to prepare for the upcoming flu season.
"This fall we're not only facing the regular seasonal flu, but also the H1N1 virus, a potentially more dangerous strain," said Rep. Heinrich. "Providing the community with timely and accurate information is a top priority of mine. My Web site has tips for keeping kids flu free and practical information for employers and educators. Remember, prevention is the first line of defense."
Representative Heinrich will continue to provide updates and resources on his Web site and respond to developments as they occur.
