Statement of Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin on Tyson Workers' Approval of Union Contract

"I support the workers' decision to accept a less than satisfactory contract and applaud their solidarity and perseverance in the face of severe hardship, both financial and emotional over the past year. Around the country, large companies showing record profits are taking steps to improve the bottom line by treating poorly their greatest asset, their employees. The Tyson employees' struggle is not unique; yet how they handled their hardship was. They not only stood up for themselves, but for thousands of workers nationwide who are facing the same situation. I applaud their will and their character in standing up for what is right."
