Response to Secretary of Education Rod Paige's Comment Calling the NEA a "terrorist organization"
"When President Bush was elected he promised to change the tone in Washington. I never expected that he would stoop to this level. Secretary Paige's comments this week mark a new low in our nation's discourse. The teachers in my district, working to improve the lives of children every day, are as appalled at the disrespect shown by this administration to their efforts and sacrifices as I am."
