Titus Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's Third District released the following statement today celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15.

"During Hispanic Heritage Month we are reminded of the enduring contributions the Hispanic American community has made to Nevada and our nation. From serving in the Armed Forces to starting the small businesses that drive economic growth, Hispanics have contributed in all facets of American life, politically, economically, and culturally.

"Hispanic Americans have shared their vibrant culture, their values of family and faith, and their rich traditions and history, which have contributed to the diversity of our nation.

"As we reflect on the accomplishments of Hispanic Americans we are reminded that their dreams represent the American Dream -- a better future full of opportunity for all Americans. However, these difficult economic times have hit Hispanic Americans particularly hard. As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, let us redouble our efforts to create good jobs, make health care accessible, and make education affordable in order to fulfill the dreams of Hispanics and all Americans."
