Capito Statement On Century Aluminum Meeting

Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) released the following statement today after spending the afternoon meeting with Century Aluminum officials, Governor Joe Manchin, Senator Rockefeller and other state and local leaders at Century's facility in Ravenswood:

“We had a cooperative meeting this afternoon and I appreciated the leadership by our state and local officials,” said Capito. “Everyone spoke with a spirit of good will.

“The recent drop in aluminum prices is obviously unique and presents serious challenges, but it's clear from today's meeting that there is a broad-based commitment by everyone involved to help and support this community.

“This is truly a joint effort and I'm looking forward to continuing the productive discussions we held today.”
