Moore Comments On Governor's Announcement That He Will Not Seek Reelection In 2010

Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) today made the following comments after Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle announced his decision not to seek another term:

"Wisconsin is fortunate to have had Jim Doyle as their governor for the last six and a half years," Congresswoman Moore said. "Governor Doyle worked diligently to expand BadgerCare so that families have access to affordable health insurance for their children. He also helped create BadgerCare Plus, so that even childless adults can get access to insurance at a decent price.

"From his service abroad as a teacher in the Peace Corps to his tenure as Wisconsin's Attorney General and his two terms as governor, Jim Doyle has been a dedicated and compassionate public servant. I wish him luck and success in all of his future pursuits."
