Cassidy Co-Sponsors 72 Hour Rule

Today, Louisiana Congressman Bill Cassidy co-sponsored a bill to require that all legislation be posted online for 72 hours before consideration on the House floor.

"If Congress is too ashamed of a bill to give the taxpayers at least 72 hours to read it, then the bill shouldn't be up for a vote in the first place," said Cassidy.

Introduced by Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA), H.Res.554 will amend House Rules to prohibit consideration of any legislation whose full text has not been posted online for at least 72 hours.
