Murphy Statement on Senate Vote on F-22 Funding

Congressman Chris Murphy released the following statement on the Senate vote to strip out F-22 funding in the defense authorization bill.

"The outcome of today's Senate vote on F-22 funding is disappointing, but it's not the last battle in this fight. It makes no sense to cut off support for the F-22 in our current economic climate; this incredible plane not only keeps our soldiers and our nation safe from threats, its production employs thousands of people in Connecticut, whose knowledge and skills we can't afford to lose.

"The future of the F-22 isn't a priority specific to Republicans or Democrats - it's an issue that affects our national defense and our economic recovery. I will continue to work with the rest of the Connecticut Congressional delegation and other Members of Congress to overturn the Department of Defense's misguided plan to end the F-22 Raptor program."
