Rep. Courtney: Obama Inauguration Offers Renewal

Celebrating the inauguration of President Barack Obama with his family and Second Congressional District residents, Representative Joe Courtney made the following statement in honor of the Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of America:

"The Inauguration of President Barack Obama renews the hope of Americans who have grown disillusioned by the belief that their concerns were not being addressed by the White House. President Obama has energized the public and reminded all of us that a determined individual can create enormous change for a nation. While the Inauguration of a new President is always an historic event, we are witnessing as momentous an occasion in our recent memory."

"After the celebration ends, the sober work of addressing our nation's serious challenges begins. Our economy is in recession and millions of Americans out of work. Each day in Connecticut, more and more families are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet, and others face climbing healthcare costs and education debts. The opportunity we have hoped for has arrived. Working with the Obama Administration, I am eager for the opportunity to help implement much needed change."
