Issue Position: Appropriations/Budget
The Senate budget resolution for fiscal year 2010 will result in an estimated $1.746 trillion deficit. This massive spending, along with the $700 billion Troubled Assets Relief Program and the $787 billion stimulus package, is adding to our national debt at an alarming rate.
With that goal in mind, I have cosponsored bills to end the earmark process and create commissions to find wasteful government programs. We need to balance the federal budget and end rampant spending.
