McNerney To Donate Pay Raise

Today, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) announced he will donate to charity the approximately $4,700 pay raise he was set to automatically receive this year. The Congressman has selected five charitable organizations from the 11th District and will divide the amount equally between them.
Below is a brief statement from Rep. McNerney regarding the donations.
"With so many families struggling in this tough economic situation, I don't think it's right for me to take a pay increase. Instead, I've decided to donate the amount of the increase to local charitable organizations. These non-profits do great work to help people in need and, just like everyone else, they're feeling pinched right now."
