Rep. Doris Matsui Votes To Continue Federal Government Funding; Bill Will Bring Much Needed Funding To Sacramento

Today, Rep. Doris Matsui voted for H.R.2638, the FY09 Continuing Resolution, which passed by a vote of 370-58. The continuing resolution funds the federal government and agencies until March, 2009.

"Although I wish we had been able to complete all of our bills this year, political stunts by the congressional minority and continued veto threats prevented us from doing so," said Rep. Matsui. "The bill we passed today will fund the federal government until March, 2009. This CR makes a number of important investments in Sacramento projects and ensures that flood control projects will continue."

In addition to funding numerous federal agencies and programs - including critical flood protection projects - the CR includes $22.9 billion in disaster relief funding for those parts of the country affected by recent natural disasters. The CR also provides vital funding for Sacramento area initiatives.
