Sen. Cornyn Statement On President Obama's Plan To Overhaul The Financial Regulatory System

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the Budget and Finance Committees, released the following statement on the President's proposal to overhaul financial regulatory structure.

"Further expansion of the size and scope of the federal government will not protect Americans or prevent another financial crisis. No matter how well intentioned, the White House's proposal raises a number of questions. At a time when American businesses and workers are already facing economic challenges, more bureaucratic red tape will only make matters worse. Congress must proceed cautiously and avoid doing anything that hinders job creation and investment that would make us less competitive."
