Hoeven Proclaims Day of Recognition in North Dakota to Acknowledge Flood Fight and Recovery Efforts

Per a concurrent resolution passed by the 61st Legislative Assembly, Gov. John Hoeven has proclaimed June 14, 2009, a day of recognition in the state to express appreciation for the work completed by local, state and federal organizations and individuals in response to the flooding that occurred across North Dakota this spring. The proclamation recognizes all those who participated in the flood fighting and recovery, as well as those who supported them in their efforts.

"In response to record snowfall and flooding this spring, our citizens once again stepped up in true North Dakota fashion, employing steadfast resolve and the state's strong work ethic to protect our communities and help our neighbors,"said Hoeven. "As we continue the flood fight and recovery efforts across the state, we would like to take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding work that has been accomplished by local, state and federal officials and organizations, as well as by the countless volunteers who came forward to make a difference for our state."
