Sen. Cornyn Statement On Speaker Kumar
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, founder and co-chair of the Senate India Caucus, made the following statement regarding Speaker Kumar.
"I congratulate Speaker Kumar on her election as the first female Speaker of the Lok Sabha. This achievement is undoubtedly the result of her dedication to public service and commitment to the people of India, as well as her commendable efforts to improve human rights and advance democratic ideals. As co-chair of the U.S. Senate India Caucus, which serves as a forum for U.S. Senators and Indian leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest, I look forward to working with Speaker Kumar to further strengthen the U.S.-India relationship in the years ahead."
