Congressman John Fleming issued the following statement today after learning President Obama will nominate Representative John McHugh to the post of Secretary of the Army.
"I applaud President Obama on his decision to name Representative John McHugh as the new Secretary of the Army. I have had the opportunity to work with Mr. McHugh as a member of the Armed Services Committee and had the honor of hosting him in the 4th Congressional District late last week. He is familiar with the importance of the military to our economy and the jobs created by Ft. Polk and Barksdale. This bipartisan selection is a positive step towards ensuring the continued strength of our military and protecting this country from terrorists who threaten our freedom and democracy.
