SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON NOMINATION OF JOHN KACAVAS AS U.S. ATTORNEY FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today released the following statement in support of John Kacavas' nomination as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Hampshire:

"I want to congratulate John Kacavas on his nomination to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Hampshire, a distinction of which he is more than worthy. John's leadership in the New Hampshire legal community for the past two decades, particularly his many years as a prosecutor, makes him exceptionally qualified for this position. I recommended John for the position of U.S. Attorney because his background as both a state and federal prosecutor and his experience as a civil litigator uniquely suits him to represent the interests of the United States in the District of New Hampshire, and I have no doubt John will work tirelessly to fulfill the responsibilities of this post. I am thrilled John was included in the first round of U.S. Attorney nominees announced by President Obama, and I look forward to his speedy confirmation."
