The office of Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., issued the following press release:

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) praised the Department of Labor for awarding the Cuban American National Council with a grant to improve academic achievement and career opportunities for Hispanic American youth in Miami-Dade County. The grant is the second in the National Hispanic Worker Initiative.

"The key to success for Hispanics is that of education and opportunity for Hispanic youth," Diaz-Balart said. "This grant will help the Cuban American National Council to continue enabling Hispanic youth with the tools they need to succeed. This is just further evidence of how President Bush and the Department of Labor recognize the rich and vital importance of Hispanics in our country."
