Sen. Cornyn: Administration Proposal To Eliminate SCAAP Funding Sticks Texas Taxpayers With The Tab

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, made the following statement regarding the Administration's proposal to terminate SCAAP, the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program.

"Illegal immigration and border security are federal responsibilities. Forcing state governments to pick up the tab for the federal government's failures doesn't save Texas taxpayers one dime. The American people would be better served if the Obama Administration spent as much time saving a buck as they do passing the buck. This is just another example of why we need President Obama to deliver on his campaign promise and present Americans with his plan for comprehensive immigration reform so states don't get left holding the bag," Sen. Cornyn said.
