Boozman VA Bill Advances to House floor

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR), the Ranking Republican on the Veterans Affairs Economic Opportunity Subcommittee, today applauded the Veterans Affairs Committee for passing legislation he introduced that establishes a pilot grant program to encourage development of new assistive technologies that will help meet the needs of disabled veterans through the Specially Adapted Housing grants.

"This will provide our nation's heroes with the tools and resources to modify their homes and vehicles with the most state-of-the-art equipment that meets the challenges our disabled veterans face head-on," Boozman said. "It is essential for us to find ways to improve the lives of our veterans who worked hard defending this country. I will continue to be an advocate for our service members and will work to find ways to improve out outreach and programs to these men and women."

HR 1170 amends chapter 21 of title 38, US Code to establish a grant program to encourage the development of new assistive technologies for specially adapted housing.

The legislation passed by voice vote, and was reported favorably by voice vote to the House.
