Statement on Opposition to HHS Secretary Nominee Kathleen Sebelius
"I opposed the nomination of Kathleen Sebelius as head of the Department of Health and Human Services for several reasons. First, her view on abortion and particularly her strong support of late-term abortions is difficult for me to overlook. Also, this is another nominee that has not
been forthright in the required reporting of their financial matters.
"The nominee will also play a lead role in the reform of our health care system and her belief that the federal government should completely take over, socialize and be the sole provider of health care is one I cannot support."
