Van Hollen Applauds Funding for the National Institutes of Health from the Recovery Act

Today, Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Assistant to the Speaker, applauded the White House announcement that Maryland will receive $4.32 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, to be used for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

"The Recovery Plan is helping to create jobs and provide necessary investments in our country," said Van Hollen. "The specific funding for NIH will help improve infrastructure and ultimately contribute to improving medical research and saving lives."
