Bennet Statement on Energy Secretary Chu's NREL Visit

Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, released the following statement regarding Energy Secretary Steven Chu's scheduled visit to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where he will announce major funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for NREL and other renewable energy projects:

"Secretary Chu has picked the right place to make this major funding announcement. NREL and Colorado are at the forefront of the New Energy Economy, finding innovative, clean and cost-effective ways to power our homes and businesses. This new infusion of federal funding will help accelerate those efforts, creating jobs, hastening our recovery and laying the foundation for a cleaner, more sustainable energy future."

Earlier this month, Bennet visited NREL to discuss ongoing research and development efforts with laboratory officials.
