Sen. Cornyn Statement On Earth Day
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, today issued the following statement in observance of Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2009:
"While its principles should be practiced every day, Earth Day is an important reminder that each of us must do our part to take care of God's green earth and preserve it for future generations. Businesses, families, communities and non-profits across my home state of Texas are setting an excellent example of how to be better stewards of our environment, by converting to renewable energy sources such as wind or solar, conserving water, and recycling. As a member of the Senate Recycling Caucus, I'm committed to encouraging these initiatives.
"From the scenic trails of Big Bend to the rolling green of the Texas Hill Country, our state's natural beauty is as diverse as it is vast. On Earth Day, I hope we will all commit to doing our part to help preserve our state's natural beauty for future Texans to enjoy."
