Titus Supports Digital TV Delay to Give Nevadans More Time to Prepare

Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's Third District released the following statement today on S. 352, the DTV Delay Act, which passed the House today by a vote of 264 to 158. The bill delays the elimination of analog television broadcasting from February 17 until June 12.

"With more than 4,000 households in my district alone on the waiting list for digital converter box coupons, delaying the transition to digital television will help prevent millions of people from losing their TV reception. Unfortunately, the transition was poorly managed by the Bush Administration, leaving people unprepared and unable to meet the February 17th deadline. By delaying the transition date, Nevadans will have ample time to receive their coupons and converter boxes."
