Titus Statement on State Accepting All Unemployment Funds From Recovery Bill

Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's Third District released the following statement today on the Governor's announcement that the state would accept all unemployment funds for Nevada through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"With Nevada's unemployment in double digits, accepting the money from the recovery plan is the right thing to do for the men and women of Nevada who have lost their jobs during this recession. These funds can make a real difference for families struggling to make ends meet during these tough economic times.

"The passage of the recovery bill was the first step to reversing our economic slide. After years of failed economic policies, it will take time to turn our economy around, and until we do, I hope the state will make every effort to take advantage of the funds in the recovery plan."
