A MESSAGE FROM SENATOR COLLINS ON THE 'EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT'

"I support the right of workers to choose to organize and bargain collectively. But, I remain adamantly opposed to the Employee Free Choice Act because it would eliminate the long-standing guarantee of a secret ballot for employees voting whether or not to be represented by a union. "Just as our elected officials are elected by secret ballot, I strongly believe employees should have that same right when it comes to determining union representation. That is why, on June 26, 2007, I voted against proceeding to debate on this bill. "
