Aderholt Statement on Day of Mourning

Date: June 8, 2004
Location: Washington, DC

WASHINGTON, DC - The offices of Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) join other federal offices in mourning the death of President Ronald Reagan. All of the Congressman's offices, as well as other federal agencies, will be closed Friday, June 11, 2004. Congressman Aderholt, who will attend many of the services in Washington, made the following statement concerning Friday's events

It is my hope that Americans will use this opportunity to stop and reflect upon the tremendous impact President Reagan had -- not only on our country -- but also on our world. He brought an end to the Cold War, reformed our government and inspired all of us to reach for, and achieve, greatness. The dignity and respect he brought to the Presidency is still in place today.

During this time, all of our prayers should be with former First Lady Nancy Reagan and President Reagan's family."
