Poll shows Quigley Reacts to Feigenholtz's Negative Polling Tactics
Fox-32 news report describes Sara Feigenholtz's "dirty politics" poll aimed at distorting candidates' backgrounds
Mike Quigley, candidate for Congress and a leading voice for reform of Cook County government,
reacted today to a media report describing negative campaign tactics used by another candidate in the race for the 5th Congressional district.
Fox-32 (WFLD-TV) aired a report Monday night describing negative campaign polling conducted by state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz.
"The people of the 5th Congressional district deserve better than this kind of negative, slash-and-burn politics and personal attacks," Quigley said.
"They deserve a discussion about the issues that matter to them how to fix our broken economy, how to fight for lower taxes, and the need to thoroughly reform government once and for all. Those are the kinds of goals I have fought for on the Cook County board, and those are the issues that I plan to discuss during this campaign.
"This campaign should be an honest discussion of which candidate has the best record of reform and the ability to bring change to Washingtonnot a contest to see who can sling the most mud.
"Today, as we proudly watch President Obama take office, every Illinois Democrat should be committed to the politics of hope and change rather than the old-style politics of negative personal attacks," Quigley said.
According to the Fox-32 story, Feigenholtz's campaign had contacted voters in recent days and asked them distorted and negative questions that were aimed at circulating allegations about state Rep. John Fritchey and Quigley. The full story can be viewed at:
