SECOND POLL RELEASED SHOWING QUIGLEY AHEAD IN 5TH DISTRICT RACE
Commissioner Mike Quigley, a leading voice for reform of Cook County government for more than ten years, continues to show strength in polls released of Fifth District voters.
This weekend, a second poll was released showing Quigley with the lead in the race.
The new poll, released by candidate Paul Bryar, showed Quigley with the lead in the race, trailed by state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz. After voters were read messages about the candidates, the poll showed Quigley's level of support increase to a full 20 percent in the crowded field. It also showed Quigley enjoying the highest name recognition of any candidate. More details on the poll are available on-line at: http://thecapitolfaxblog.com/2009/01/31/saturday-

The polling results confirmed the findings of a poll released recently by the Quigley campaign.
In that earlier survey, Quigley led all other Democratic candidates in the race. In addition, his name recognition was the highest of all candidates, and he has higher favorability rating than any of the candidates in the race.
Quigley held an almost 2 to 1 margin over the next closest candidate, Feigenholtz, when voters were asked to choose from a field seven candidates. Quigley received 19 percent to Feigenholtz's 11 percent; state Rep. John Fritchey was third, with 8 percent. Quigley also led as the second-choice of voters. In two-way match-ups, Quigley led Feigenholtz by 13 points (30 to 17 percent). He led Fritchey by 19-points, 32 to 13 percent.
The Quigley campaign's poll was conducted by Anzalone-Liszt Research. It had a margin of error of +/- 4.4 percent. "At its heart, this campaign is a referendum on reform and on which candidate is best equipped and most committed to delivering real change in Washington," Quigley said. "I am pleased that the people of this district identify me as the person ready, willing and able to do just that."
