Sen. Cornyn Discusses Economic Growth Initiatives With Nueces County Leaders

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, today hosted a meeting in his Washington office with elected officials from Nueces County, including County Judge Loyd Neal and Commissioner Betty Jean Longoria.

"I welcomed the opportunity to meet with Judge Neal and Commissioner Longoria to discuss priorities for families and businesses in Nueces County. Unfortunately, Nueces County and communities across Texas are not immune to the nation's economic downturn, and hard-working men and women, homeowners and small business owners in Nueces County are feeling the impact of tough economic times. I assured Judge Neal and Commissioner Longoria that I am committed to finding ways to support Texas small businesses and middle-class families through tax relief and pro-growth initiatives. We discussed several efforts underway that are sure to be a boon to the local economy in Nueces County, including the Joe Fulton Trade Corridor and improvements to the county jail that will increase public safety."
