SENATOR COLLINS' STATEMENT ON NOMINATION OF SENATOR GREGG TO BECOME COMMERCE SECRETARY

U.S. Senator Susan Collins released this statement following the announcement that President Barack Obama intends to nominate New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg to become Secretary of Commerce.

"Judd Gregg is an outstanding choice to be Secretary of Commerce. He is one of my closest friends in the Senate, and I shall miss working with him day to day. But it is great news for New England to have Judd helping to shape economic policy in the new Administration as he understands our concerns and challenges so well. Judd is a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility and will serve our country well in his new position."
