U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) released the following statement today after meeting with Attorney General Nominee, Eric Holder. Durbin is the Assistant Senate Majority Leader and a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

"Eric Holder has the experience, integrity and independence necessary to restore the reputation of the Department of Justice. He is a very good candidate for the job of Attorney General and I look forward to discussing how he would lead the Department of Justice at his confirmation hearings."
