DeLauro Statement on Pentagon's Decision to Postpone Tanker Contract
Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) issued the following statement on the Pentagon's announcement that they are withdrawing the current request for proposal (RFP) for the KC-X Tanker replacement, and will defer a new solicitation and source selection decision to the next administration.
"This is the right decision. Following the Air Force's failed effort to hold a fair competition to replace the refueling tanker, the Defense Department made matters no better in changing the requirements and only allowing a few weeks for bidders to submit new proposals. By postponing the solicitation, the Pentagon will ensure a level-playing field and that no one has an unfair advantage.
