DeLauro Statement on New Haven Police Sergeant Killed in Crash and Officer in Critical Condition

Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) issued the following statement on the death of New Haven police Sergeant Dario "Scott" Aponte and critical injuries to Patrol Officer Diane Gonzalez following the collision late-Tuesday of their cruisers while responding to an emergency call.

"At this painful time, our larger New Haven family comes together to mourn the loss of Sergeant Dario ‘Scott' Aponte and pray for Officer Diane Gonzalez.

"I want to extend my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Sergeant Aponte and Officer Gonzalez, as well as the entire New Haven Police Department."
