DeLauro Statement on the Anniversary of September 11

Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) issued the following statement on the seventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

"Today we come together as a nation to mark that fateful day seven years ago when our country was attacked by terrorists.

"We remember those who were killed - the mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunts, uncles and friends - and mourn their loss. We pay tribute to our brave first responders - the police officers, firefighters, emergency service people and the construction workers - who acted quickly to try to save others. And we honor those who, despite their grief, fought to make our countries safer and ensure that no other family experienced such a tragedy.

"As we mark this day, we strengthen our resolve to continue to improve our nation's security, as well as disrupt and defeat terrorist organizations around the world."
