Walberg Statement on Administration's Financial Plan

U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) today issued the following statement in response to the Bush Administration's plan to bail out the financial market:

"I have serious concerns about putting taxpayer dollars on the line for $700 billion. As this proposal evolves, my priorities are protecting taxpayers, encouraging economic growth and making sure taxpayers are not subsidizing severance packages for failed CEOs. This situation is a clear indication that government regulation did not work because it was not properly implemented."
