McCollum Applauds Reopening of the I-35W Bridge

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) today released the following statement to applaud the upcoming reopening of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis:

"One year ago, Minnesotans made a commitment to rebuild I-35W. We will stand together again next week to dedicate a new bridge and remember those we lost that day and express our gratitude to the workers who have labored to make this opening possible.

"This is an important milestone. Minnesota's Congressional delegation responded immediately to this disaster and secured over $250 million in federal funds for this tremendous effort. As we look forward, our job must not be about rebuilding bridges that have fallen down, but rather making the necessary investments throughout the country to keep our citizens safe while maintaining and expanding our nation's vital infrastructure."
