After being elected to the serve the people of the 5th District, I was asked to sit on the House Committee on Agriculture. The Agriculture Committee was my first choice of assignments due to the 5th Districts rich and deep tradition in farming and ranching. From tobacco to poultry, from soybeans to grapes, the 5th District farmers and ranchers produce the best agricultural products in the nation and in the world. Our farmers and ranchers continue to be good stewards of the land while constantly maximizing their harvests and production with new and innovative techniques.
