Shays Defends Big Oil, Not Families
Democratic candidate criticizes Shays for misplaced priorities
Last night, on Larry King Live, Chris Shays defended oil companies in response to Senator Joe Biden's speech. Democratic candidate for Congress Jim Himes issued the following statement in response:
"Chris Shays' statements yesterday show that he has the wrong priorities," said Himes. "It's our families, not big oil, who need to be defended. Big oil is making record profits while Connecticut's families are paying record prices at the pump and bracing for crippling heating costs this winter. This is a real difference between us: Chris Shays wants energy solutions that work for big oil, I want energy solutions that work for our families."
