Lummis Talks with Drivers about High Gas Prices

Lummis Pumps Gas and Discusses Her Solutions to the
High Prices of Gas and Energy

Cynthia Lummis, the Republican nominee for Wyoming's U.S. House seat, spoke with folks about high gas prices at a gas station on the south side of Cheyenne. Lummis thinks that the most important issues in this election are energy and the economy. Lummis chose the location because she grew up on the south side and thinks it is important to go to every corner of Wyoming to hear people's concerns about high gas and energy prices.

Lummis commented, "Wyoming's got what Washington needs. My approach to energy helps the economy by bringing more high-paying jobs to Wyoming. My solution captures American ingenuity and provides American jobs for American people. The folks I spoke with today completely agreed with my "all of the above" approach. My solution is the only comprehensive one that is being discussed in this congressional race; and it's the only one that brings energy costs down for good. This solution will also strengthen our national security by providing American energy so that we can stop sending money to foreign governments out to undo America and all values we cherish."

Lummis continued to discuss her comprehensive energy solution, "We must open new and expand existing domestic oil refineries and domestic energy reserves, allow environmentally responsible energy development on the Outer Continental Shelf and in Alaska, and increase the use of, biomass, wind, and solar energy. Most importantly, I want to keep and bring more high-paying jobs to Wyoming by encouraging the cultivation and production of our coal to liquid, clean coal, and oil shale programs."

Lummis' approach is an "all of the above" solution to combat high gas prices and energy costs. Lummis' solution is not filled with empty promises, but action. Talk is cheap, but action matters. She understands that there is no magic wand that can be waved to immediately lower high gas prices. And anyone who tells you that is just not telling the truth. What can be done immediately, though, is to start drilling in an environmentally safe way. The Democrat Party has been telling us that we cannot drill our way out of the current energy crisis - as if we didn't already know that. What is most frustrating is that the Congressional Democrats use this statement as an excuse to do nothing at all.
