"Turner fights for jobs"

Congressman Turner is committed to working towards a healthy economy for our region. When the future of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base was on the line during the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process, Mike successfully fought to protect existing base projects and helped bring an additional 1,000 jobs and $230 million in federal funding to Wright-Patterson. In addition to his efforts during the BRAC process, he recently voted for the bipartisan Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, which sent $168 billion in economic aid to American families and small businesses.

Congressman Turner remains concerned about US manufacturers who are impacted by unfair trade practices giving foreign competitors an inequitable advantage over US companies. He has advocated leveling the playing field for American companies by co-sponsoring the Fair Currency Act, which would lead to China re-evaluating their currency to a realistic value. Additionally, Turner has stood firmly behind American workers by working across party lines to ensure retirement security, as well as to raise the federal minimum wage.
