Today, Congressman Chris Murphy (CT-5) released the following statement on the news that the Department of Defense will delay the bidding process for the Air Force's $35 billion aerial refueling tankers contract.
"With the needs of our Air Force, the future of Connecticut's defense industry, and $35 billion in taxpayer dollars at stake, the Pentagon has made a wise choice in delaying the bidding process for the tanker refueling contract. I will push the next Administration to conduct a new, fair competition for this contract and remain confident that a fair process will be a benefit to our troops, and Connecticut's workers and defense industry. The eyes and ears of the Connecticut delegation will continue to be focused on this process as it moves forward."
