Accomplishments: Growing Our Economy & Creating Jobs

The U.S. economy has slowed to a crawl - due primarily to the housing crunch and skyrocketing fuel prices. Jobs are being cut and families are having a hard time affording basic necessities like food and gas. Mario Diaz-Balart is committed to effective policies that will make our economy grow, create jobs and put more money back in the hands of families. Less talk, more action.

• Voted for the Economic Stimulus Package to help families being squeezed by a weakening economy.

• Introduced the CARS Act (Commuter Assistance for Suburbs, H.R. 5905) to provide relief to commuters suffering with high gas prices.

• Introduced the Keep Our Homes Act to provide relief to strapped honest homeowners.

• Voted for common-sense, pro-family tax cuts.

• Voted for tax cuts that spurred business investment and economic growth.

• Strong and vocal advocate for Colombian Free Trade Agreement which would open a key market for American-made goods.

• Strong advocate for extending tax cuts that would save Florida families $3,040 in taxes.
