Issue Position

With 16 years of private sector experience, Congressman Sessions understands the needs to fight bureaucracy and utilize market-driven solutions to solve problems effectively in our communities and in government. As a businessman, he served as Chairman of the Northeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce.

Pete Sessions has been a true leader in Congress on issues affecting the financial services industry. During the 108th Congress, he played a central role in developing the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act, which provided consumers with access to free annual credit reports and created a national system of fraud detection and alerts. Specifically selected by House Leadership to sit on the conference committee for this bill, Congressman Sessions helped determine the final version of this important legislation.

In addition to supporting substantial tax relief for hard-working American families, Congressman Sessions focuses on updating and improving our health care system; protecting, preserving, and reforming Social Security and Medicare; and eliminating wasteful government spending.

Congressman Sessions' work and dedication to financial issues have earned him accolades locally and nationally. He is a ten-time recipient of the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Other awards include Hero of the Taxpayer Award from the Americans for Tax Reform, the Brighter Vision Award from the Seniors Coalition, and the Guardian for Seniors' Rights Award from the 60 Plus Association.
