Hoeven Statement On The Passing Of Former N.D. Game And Fish Director Dean Hildebrand

Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to news of the death last night of former North Dakota Game and Fish Director Dean Hildebrand:

"I know all North Dakota sportsmen and sportswomen join Mikey and me, as well as our entire administration, in extending our deepest condolences to the family of Dean Hildebrand upon his passing.

"Dean was a valued colleague and a dedicated servant of North Dakota. As a teacher, National Guardsman, businessman, legislator and advocate for the North Dakota outdoors, Dean has left a lasting legacy for the state he so loved.

"We are pleased that last month Dean was able to participate in a ceremony dedicating a new wildlife management area named in his honor. The naming was an expression of the outdoors community's appreciation for his life's work. Through this beautiful plot of land in Pembina County, Dean's work and his name will be preserved for many, many generations to come."
