Issue Position

America's veterans met their obligations to serve our country in the military with honor. As Congress makes decisions that affect veterans' health care, their futures, and their lives, we cannot forget that commitment.

Sadly, in this current environment in Washington, instead of being met with open arms and support, today's veterans are increasingly being met with program fees and co-pays.

The cost of caring for today's veterans has increased a great deal. Mental health services as well as prosthetics and other high priority items are dramatically increasing the cost of veterans' health care, and we must be ready to provide these types of services to our vets.

Democrats support a veterans budget that provides the resources the VA needs. Democrats will keep fighting to provide more resources in order to meet the needs of our veterans.
