Issue Position: Keeping Our Commitment to America's Seniors

Congresswoman Gillibrand is fighting to maintain our country's promises to America's seniors and she opposes any efforts to privatize or reduce benefits for Medicare or Social Security beneficiaries. She believes bipartisan solutions must be conceived in order to keep these two successful programs solvent for future generations.

Congresswoman Gillibrand believes that we have a responsibility to improve Medicare Part D so that New York's seniors can afford the medication they need to stay healthy. She co-sponsored and voted for legislation that will allow Medicare to negotiate with the pharmaceutical companies for lower prices and she supports eliminating the donut hole for low-income seniors.
