Sen. Cornyn Visits Capital Area Food Bank

Texas Senator John Cornyn stopped by the Capital Area Food Bank Monday.
Cornyn is touring several Texas food banks to show his support.
He told the crowd even food banks suffer when food and fuel prices are up and he thanked the volunteers for their continued support.
To help those volunteers, Cornyn announced that he will co-sponsor the Charitable Mileage Deduction Equity Act.
"This bipartisan legislation will raise the deductibility for charitable mileage for volunteers from the current 14 cents a mile to about 58 cents a mile," Cornyn said.
Cornyn is seeking re-election facing Democratic State Rep. Rick Noriega in November.
