Crime Subcommittee Chairman Scott Reacts to U.S. Supreme Court Decision Overturning the D.C. Hand Gun Ban

In reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision this morning overturning the District of Columbia's hand gun ban, Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (D-VA-03), Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, issued the following statement:

"I am reviewing the decision and consulting with experts regarding its implications. I am pleased that, so far, it appears that while the outright ban by D.C. of handguns in the home for self-protection was overturned, other longstanding, sensible governmental regulation of firearms was upheld."
